Health workers' union Unison has voted to re-open a multi-year pay deal.
The move follows increases in the costs of fuel, energy and food, which are driving inflation beyond the 2 per cent assumption made at the time of the agreement, Unison says.
The deal was worth 2.75 per cent this year, 2.54 per cent next year and 2.5 per cent the year after. Unison accepts this year's rise but wants to renegotiate the following years' increases.
