Alcohol misuse costs Scotland £2.25bn

Alcohol misuse is costing Scotland a staggering £2.25bn per year, more than double previous estimates, the Scottish government has said.
Of this, £405m is for costs to the NHS, including £150m for using hospital beds to treat drinkers and £32.3m for accident and emergency services to deal with the effects of alcohol.
