Monitor approves 100th foundation trust

Foundation trust regulator Monitor has announced the authorisation of the 100th foundation trust.

Pennine Care foundation trust will become the 100th NHS trust to achieve foundation trust status on 1 July 2008. 

Monitor chair Bill Moyes said: "This is an important milestone. The sooner that all acute and mental health providers can meet the standards required to achieve foundation trust status, the more patients will benefit."
