One in four dentists plans to quit the NHS by next April, according to a survey.

They are dissatisfied with the dental contract introduced two years ago, a poll of 86 dentists for the Dental Practitioners Association found.

Almost a third (30 per cent) of dentists said they did not meet treatment targets last year, and 65 per cent complained they were having money clawed back by their primary care trust.
