Volunteers save trusts £700,000

A report by Volunteering England has calculated the economic value of services provided by volunteers to the NHS.

Health check: a practical guide to assessing the impact of volunteering in the NHS says the services provided by volunteers are worth an average of £700,000 a year to a hospital trust, £500,000 a year to a mental health trust and £250,000 a year to a primary care trust.
