The importance of leadership in making hospitals safer and increasing their quality of care has never been more prominent.
The Health Foundation's annual Leadership Fellows and Leaders for Change award programmes have recently welcomed the latest group of exceptional NHS healthcare professionals.
Our Leadership Fellows programme provides a tailored programme of personal and professional development to people who have the potential to make an outstanding contribution to improving the quality of care. Leaders for Change works with healthcare professionals already involved in service improvement programmes to give them the skills and knowledge to lead change and achieve lasting improvements in patient care.
The award holders come from a wide range of professional backgrounds. The aim is to help spread the fundamentals of effective leadership to all corners of the NHS.
Health Foundation assistant director Jan Walmsey said: "We are investing in the healthcare leaders of tomorrow, today. All our Leadership award winners proved themselves to be highly motivated, talented professionals dedicated to improving patient services. I am certain that through our leadership schemes we have identified healthcare professionals with the ability to become effective, inspirational leaders within the NHS."
