Campaigning doctor loses seat

Richard Taylor, who took Wyre Forest in 2001, pledging to fight the downgrading of Kidderminster Hospital, has been defeated by the Conservatives.

The hospital is run by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust.

Mr Taylor has been a driving force behind moves to get an NHS whistleblowing bill made law.
