2010 Multi-site clinical audit funding announced
HQIP
The Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) is pleased to announce funding for the latest round of multi-site clinical audits.
Traditionally, HQIP commissions national and local audits. However, some topics fall between the two: conditions or interventions applied in particular settings which could be benchmarked against other centres or regions, but which are not national in coverage, those that only affect a small number of patients or are relatively less established.
To support these, 2009 saw HQIP launch its first round of multi-site clinical audits, commissioning six reports.
Multi-site audits are particularly relevant where there are groups of clinicians with interests in specific conditions or less common treatments, or clusters of hospitals that share a common concern. HQIP’s multi-site development fund supports these groups as they build up clinical audits to assess compliance with guidelines or emerging best practice.
The fund will appeal to groups who are new in their work, or who represent less common specialties or sub-specialties, and it is designed to support the audit aspect of these clinical groups’ work. The funding is not available for national audit work, or audits which meet the criteria for national audit funding.
This funding is linked to the National Clinical Audit Forum (NCAF) which was launched in 2009. All groups applying for funding are expected to join NCAF, and form a group in order to communicate and manage some of their work in connection with the audit they are carrying out.
Funding: Available for up to three years at a maximum of £10,000 per year.
Deadline: Proposals must be received by 12th April 2010 electronically and in a word document. Applications are to be sent to lailaa.carr@hqip.org.uk Requests to send an application in by post or in any other format should be sent for the attention of: Lailaa Carr.
