Service Requirements

The Provider will be required to deliver an innovative and creative Community Skin Health and Disease Service that meet local needs. We expect the new provider to have a highly skilled workforce that includes an appropriate skill mix of Doctors and Nurses.

The specific objectives of the service will be:

- To prevent unnecessary referral into secondary care;
- To contribute to reducing avoidable follow-up consultation costs and costs associated with inappropriate outpatient first attendances;
- To meet an unmet need for local dermatology services;
- To improve referral to fi rst episode waiting time of community dermatology services;
- To improve the quality of detail included in referrals and to improve confidence in GP initial diagnosis and treatment of skin health and disease;
- To encourage best practice around skin health and disease care;

A successful bidder will be required to be fully committed to providing high quality NHS Community Skin Health and Disease Service to the local adult GP registered population of Kensington and Chelsea.

Likely Total Contract Term - 3 Years

Likely Total Contract Value (Maximum) - £1,087,147.00 over 3 year.

Reply By - 16.00pm Thursday 18th March 2010

Potential bidders will then be sent a Pre-qualifi cation questionnaire which will be used to determine their suitability for inclusion in the tender process. The date for submission of completed Pre-Qualifi cation Questionnaires will be 12.00 noon Thursday, 29th April 2010.
