The delivery of Active Tower Hamlets


NHS Tower Hamlets is seeking to commission a provider(s) to deliver “Active Tower Hamlets”, an exercise on referral service aimed at increasing physical activity levels of certain adult residents of the borough.


Organisations wishing to tender shall need to demonstrate


- Experience of delivering a similar service, with a varied programme of activities.
- An understanding of how important physical activity is to the management of medical conditions such as type 2 diabetes, obesity and osteoporosis.
- The ability to receive 500 referrals to the service per year.
- Experience of marketing a similar programme.

Time Frame


The trust aims to have a provider in place by September 2009.

Interested organisations should express their interest in obtaining the PQQ by an e-mail to Shaju Jose (shaju.jose@thpct.nhs.uk),Tel: 020 8223 8607 by no later than 1700hrs on 16th June 2009. As a minimum the e-mail should include the tender reference number (156/NHSTH/ATH/05/09/SJ) and contact details such as the name of the person, job title, telephone numbers (office & mobile) and the web address (if any). PQQ will not be sent out to anyone who does not register their interest by 1700 hrs on 16th June 2009.We anticipate e-mailing a PQQ on 17th June 2009. Bidder’s shortlisted at the PQQ stage will receive an Invitation To Tender (ITT) document on 13th July 2009.
