Calls for Expressions of Interest for the provision of a Chlamydia Screening Service
NHS Wandsworth
Wandsworth Primary Care Trust (WPCT) invites Expressions of Interest from all organisations (including general practitioners, social enterprise / third sector organisations and other providers) who are suitably qualified and experienced to provide a Chlamydia Screening Outreach Programme.
WPCT wishes to commission outreach services to support the delivery of its local chlamydia screening programme. The outreach chlamydia screening service will aim to:
- Identify suitable community-based screening venues, and integrate these into the WPCT screening programme (e.g. youth clubs, colleges, sports clubs, etc).
- Carry out screening for chlamydia amongst Wandsworth residents in the age range 15 to under 25 years.
- Develop an annual screening calendar to include key local events (e.g. music and street festivals, sports events, etc.)
- Raise awareness of chlamydia amongst our target population, and increase access to chlamydia testing, especially for hard-to-reach and vulnerable groups and those living in the most deprived wards of Wandsworth.
- Increase access to sexual health advice and treatment services by signposting young people to specialist services where required.
- Work in partnership with, complement and/or add value to existing screening services (i.e. GPs, Pharmacists, Reproductive and Sexual Health Services, etc).
- Develop a robust system for data collection and analysis in order to capture the profile of those screened.
The contract will continue for an initial period from the date of award until 31 March 2011. WPCT may wish to extend the contract for a further period of 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance and review against key performance indicators.
Those wishing to submit an Expression of Interest are asked to forward an email to the following address: (david.mansfield@swlondonssp.nhs.uk). Please ensure the email is entitled ‘Expression of Interest_Chlamydia Screening_
