CONTRACT FOR MENTAL HEALTH PRIMARY CARE LIAISON NURSES SERVICE

NHS Kensington and Chelsea invite expressions of interest from suitably experienced organisations for the provision of a Primary Care Liaison Nurses Service (PCLN) within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

The PCLN service will consist of a team of community psychiatric nurses who will work in partnership with GPs and a Primary Care Consultant Psychiatrist in a ‘stepped care’ model. The role of the PCLN shall include risk management, provision of intermediate care for patients with common mental health problems, relapse prevention for those with stable severe and enduring mental illnesses, and advice and support to the primary care mental health team. The PCLN will be the key link with secondary care services, provided by Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust.

The contract period will be for three years with a further option to extend for 1 year.

This procurement will follow a restricted tender process; Providers will need to meet minimum requirements of probity, financial status, operational capability and resources, experience of doing similar work for other PCTs, equal opportunities compliance and satisfactory references to be eligible for invitation to tender.
