Expression of Interest to Tender for the provision of the Health Services at the new prisons on the Belmarsh Site
NHS Greenwich seeks expressions of interest from suitably experienced and qualified service providers who would like to be considered for the provision of a wide range of health services at new prisons on the Belmarsh site in the London Borough of Greenwich. Expressions of interest from consortia or partnerships are welcomed, on condition that a lead member with overall responsibility for the tender, and any subsequent contract, is clearly identified.
The Prison Health Services include: Primary Care; Mental Health; Substance Misuse; Sexual Health. The Services are required to be available to the total prison population of, up to 900 at HMP Belmarsh, 624 prisoners at HMP YOI Isis and 900 at Belmarsh West.
The Services will be located in accommodation within the Prison boundary provided by HMP Prison Services, although some health services, from time to time and according to individual prisoner requirements, may be provided off-site, at respective specialist Health Service resources.
The Contract for HMP Isis will commence in June 2010 for a period of 3 years, (with an option to extend for up to a further 2 years). The contract for HMP Belmarsh will commence November 2010,(with an option to extend for up to 2 years). The contract for Belmarsh West will commence in summer 2011 for a period of 3 years (with an option to extend for up to a further 2 years).

Applicants will be required to complete a pre-qualification questionnaire, which must be returned by no later than 2pm on the 27th of August 2009.
