NHS Gloucestershire invites expressions of interest from all suitably qualified organisations for the
provision of all Clinical and associated Support Services for this new 30-bedded Community Hospital in Gloucester. The Medical Service to the hospital will be a separate contract arrangement.

An existing building that is to be extensively refurbished to provide mainly en-suite single rooms will be opened for service beginning 2011.

Serving a population of circa 156,000, the Community Hospital will be part of the extended primary care service and an integral part of the Gloucester Practice based Commissioning strategy for managing unscheduled care.

The service will provide a responsive and efficient service for adults and older people who require medical sub-acute, palliative care or rehabilitation.
