Invitation to Tender Specialist Weight Management Service

Expressions of interest are being invited by Greater Manchester Commissioning Business Service (CBS) on behalf of Ashton,
Leigh and Wigan PCT.

Ashton, Leigh & Wigan Primary Care Trust are seeking to commission a Specialist Weight Management Service for people with a BMI of 40 plus. The service model will include assessment of clients, developing personal plans and providing a range of evidence based interventions for the specialist management of obese adults in the NHS Ashton, Leigh and Wigan registered population. The following interventions will be used:

● Initial triage
● Health trainer assessment and support programme*
● Psychology and Domiciliary programmes
● Bariatric surgery assessment
● Pharmacotherapy
● Drop-in and weigh-in sessions
● Lifestyle programme providing group and 1 to 1 support

The programmes will be delivered over six months.

It is anticipated that the contract will commence in September 2009. Interested parties are initially required to view the Procurement & Market Management area of the CBS web site: http://www.gmcbs.co.uk/procurement where they will then
be able to access all current tenders. Potential bidders will be required to register their interest in this procurement
via CBS’s e-tendering portal. Relevant documentation and tender deadlines will then be made available to suppliers
via the portal.
