Calls for expression of interest for A Smoking Cessation Service to Medium and Large Enterprises located in the borough of Tower Hamlets
Smoking Cessation Service
Tower Hamlets Primary Care Trust is inviting ‘Expressions of Interest’ to tender for the provision of a smoking cessation service to medium and large enterprises in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
The Context
The use of tobacco products continues to be a serious public health issue for the people of Tower Hamlets. A greater proportion of our local community uses tobacco than in other parts of the country. The Smoking Epidemic in England report in 2004 estimated that 37% (70,000) of the Tower Hamlets adult population (16+) were smokers compared to an average of 27%
in England.
Organisations wishing to tender shall need to demonstrate
- Experience of delivering a smoking cessation programme to businesses
- The ability to deliver 400 4 week validated quits per year.
Other criteria will be stated in the Pre-Qualifying Questionnaire.
Time Frame
The Trust is aiming to have a provider in place by the 1st September 2009.
Outcome
Consultancies that are selected from the PQQ will be issued with an Invitation to Tender (ITT). It is anticipated that the
closing date ITT will be 5th June 2009.
