I began my career in mental health as a nursing assistant at the Maudsley Hospital following graduation in 1980. I then went into advice work, running an advice service in a mental health unit in Surrey, which led to a role as a CHC Chief Officer before moving into mental health and LD commissioning in London. I returned to Surrey to Commission and then manage Children's Services before moving into corporate governance and organisational performance which is what I now do for NHS Surrey, in an interim role effectively as a corporate secretary. I'm interested in how organisations and individuals maintain values and develop effective ways of working in complex systems - OD and Personal Development, teamwork and engagement of staff.
