Inequality targeted

The most deprived areas of the country are to get help to raise life expectancy and meet 2010 targets to reduce health inequalities with a health inequalities intervention tool.

Designed by the London and Yorkshire and Humber health observatories and commissioned by the Department of Health, the tool allows primary care trusts with the biggest health and deprivation challenges to probe the underlying causes of the life expectancy gap.
