My Health gene and Political gene have been very mixed up all my life - You know a bit like the NHS ... Therefore in a true spirit of chaotic fellowship I vow to demystify the UK health services and to definitely die trying ...Psssss - Artist, and maker of toons , Art Attack deliverer - Satire and cheek practitioner....

Comment on: Labour urged to suspend NHS IT programme
Peter is spot on here . I would add I do think GP's can become the efficient holders of information and once a patient is on a practice's databases (perhaps organised in some kind of constituency clusters) that has to be useful but like any system it depends on the patient being identified quickly . I am seriously unhappy with everyone's records being on a centralised IT spine system - because one way or another they will be either hacked or lost and the Gov't services records on losing others record is abysmal .. Big is not always better at all ..

Comment on: Mid Staffs families to sue for manslaughter
I am with Sun Tsu a bit here - The Francis Report is available on the DOH site by the way and its pretty sad - very for the people who lost folk . You cannot help but be moved by it (see link) http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publicationsandstatistics/Publications/PublicationsPolicyAndGuidance/DH_113018 I do think the Govt drove the NHS too quickly into FT bottlenecked thinking which drove up the pressure on some Trusts which did constrict insights into pinching money from here and there to get FT status .. Yet accountability is shared by us all in varying degrees and my jaw was barking a lot about pressured FT drives to various people including an MP .. I'm also still worried about the bullying culture of the NHS and the way everyone keeps their head down too much - our moral climate has been beaten down by political expediency too much ... I support Julie Bailey and Cure The NHS in their need to increase accountability to its fullest measure ..

Comment on: Families of Mid Staffs victims still want public inquiry
I am with the deepest possible insight trawl into this business to restore - even invigorate I would hope - the public's ownership of power over both the NHS and politicians. The Gov't pushed this FT tight-pennied agenda too in the years of banking speculation and now plenty of bonuses for the fit fish and even fitter sharks - most of whom they know personally . You might not think all this is linked but in the public mind its all part of a disgusting thematic weave of who cares about the public at the top of Govt ? "Let's get expenses and status and inflation proofed pensions and allow big bonuses for our banker mates " While we have an inquiry which dodges the openess we all needed to re-own our national healthier lives from Stafford outwards and stop kowtowing to corporate bureaucracy in charge of everyone and everything .....UK has been turned into YUK .. Who knows how it will evolve - probably back into bureaucratic suffocation of democracy like we have had it for several years ....But there again maybe not ... I'll do what I can to support Cure The NHS ... I want to see a raw edge back to accountability and serious moral professionals telling the truth .. Not trading it off all the time .....

Comment on: The Francis report's 18 recommendations
Yeah - the sentiments above are so spot on ... Anon 1. Has it for me espcially - the financial hothousing of Staffs FT was driven by Gov't pressure - it happened at other Trusts too... The public are shut out too from accountability - hived off in quarantined "nice" little groups - of finally over-polite people that have more in common with the over-conformed set-up torturers like Stanley Milgram's experiments ably showed ... It not that people are inherently bad - they just overconform to "authority" which creates abuses and slip and slide on the vision of others pains .

Comment on: Mid Staffs report calls for regulation of managers
Like I have always said for some years - at the top of the Boards its more like being around the Gov't encouraged "Staffia" than open human beings and the code of anti accountability silence rivals that of the Mafia .... I have often thought of walking into some Trust meetings in some hospitals with a gag on or handkerchief in my mouth to bring some exposed comic reality back to the NHS. Making the existential truth into an open one would be interesting . Whatever you do - do not be honest and speak a truth but curdle it in micro-political soups and stews of contrary policies and top down Gov't oppressions. Everyone compromises everyone else by a collusive atmosphere of silenced-knowing... The Gov't ought to be on manslaughter trial over Stafford too . So ought everyone else in that Trust who had some responsibility.. A public enquiry is absolutely right to have . And in mental health trusts "Staffia" rule is a constant but you have to get in the skin of the public and patients, and not the paid-for ones either - to experience the reality ..The mental health trusts always have the tribe of show casers - ponceing about with performance feathers on , while patients suffer or are robbed of rights being properly pursued .. (take the lack of SOADS nationally and CTO rise without IMHA provisions) Naturally I will not mention Trust names because lets face it, the culture of denial and bullying is pervasive and dogs like me might be savaged in my HSJ kennel .... Elsewhere I am meeting Crocodile Dundee Users and we iz coming after you crocs ..I hope you like my ozzie street-patient-cred accent, my health cobbers out there in UK-laru... .
