I went for an interview with a commissioning unit yesterday. They asked me for a presentation. I wanted the partnership strategy and the CSP for source material. Both were excellent documents. I had to get them from one designated person in the comms department, no one else had access. They were not there. So I contacted the commisioning unit. Only one person had a copy of the document. Absolute proof that these are academic tick box exercises written by dedicated Clinicians and highly paid contractors whilst the front line staff ignore them. As they say the devil is in the detail. I didn't get the job, I hadn't worked in a PCT before and that was one of the 'competency questions'. Of course that was clear from my NHS jobs data. So they don't read Strategies and they don't read job apps.and they don't want anyone not like them. And this is a 'good' PCT.
