You really haven't got it, have you ?
What we're arguing is just wittering on about competition on elective (and usually npon-complex) surgery completely misses the point. That isn't where the real service pressure. That isn't where the major changes are needed. simple competition won't tackle the major service redesign issues needed. Fawcett's article is utterly deafening in its silence on anything really new, and that's the problem.
