Don't forget it's not just about the NHS.

The challenge will come when doctors work in both the Independent Sector and the NHS - then the importance of whole practice appraisal will come into its own.

I work for Cygnet Health Care (an independent provider) and we are working hard to ensure we are ready for Revalidation both for doctors with whom we have a prescribed connection and those who have practising privileges and work within the NHS as well- they too will need a whole range of information relating to their private practice.

Our experience of the Revalidation Support Team has been very positive- they have adopted an integrated approach to supporting both the Independent Sector and the NHS in preparation for Revalidation.
