Recognition of the role and value of mediation in itself suggests a cultural shift in an organisation away from reliance on hierarchical processes to a more transparent dialogue with its workforce. Implicit within the mediation process is the acknowledgement that there is more than one valid point of view, which could be a hard pill to swallow at any level within an organisation. By demonstrating this belief beyond any specific incident, the maximum value of mediation can be be realised.
