Simon Dodds

Graduated from Cambridge University in 1982 with degrees in medical and computer science; qualified in 1985 from Barts and then trained in general then vascular surgery. Appointed consultant surgeon at Good Hope Hospital in 1999 and awarded the first NHS Service Improvement Award in 2004 for the innovative redesign of the Leg Ulcer Service. Published the stiory of the project in 2006 as a small book "Three Wins: Service Improvement using Value Stream Design" and went on to co-found the Lean Academy at Heart of England Foundation Trust in 2007. Currently actively developing and disseminating tools and training in value system design (www.threewinsacademy.co.uk).
