Expressions of Interest are requested for the Management and Delivery of Healthcare Services for HMP Pentonville. Contract number 08/049/PCT

Islington PCT invites suitably qualified and experienced providers of sound financial standing, to express an interest in the delivery of healthcare services within HMP Pentonville.

This will include the provision of a comprehensive Primary Care led Health Service, including sexual health, to take overall responsibility for healthcare delivery including in and out of hour's services and reception cover. Services will also include Mental Health Services, and comprehensive Substance Misuse Services.

The services will be located in accommodation within the prison itself. Although some health services may need to be provided off-site from time to time, depending on individual prisoner need.

The purpose of the service will be to ensure the delivery of high quality health care services, to meet the needs of 1152 male prisoners, working in partnership with specialist health care professionals, prison staff and Islington PCT. There is a possibility that the capacity of the prison will increase in the future.

The contract will be for a period of three years, with an option to extend for a further two years, subject to satisfactory performance.

Providers will be asked to complete and return a pre-qualification questionnaire. This will include the completion of supporting statements.

These will include:
1. Experience of delivering Health Care Service 25%
2. An understanding of working within a secure environment 15%
3. Experience of Partnership Working 25%
4. Experience of Service Development and Change Management 25%
5. Experience of Public Sector TUPE arrangements 10%
