The PCT is seeking expressions of interest from qualified and experienced health care providers to participate in a procurement process for the provision of two new GP practices and Urgent Care Services (including out of hours services for Barnsley PCT).
A tender process will be open to provide a GP Practice in the Wentworth North Wards of Rotherham. A separate tender for services at the new Primary Care Centre (due to open in November 2008) will be in two lots, a GP Practice and Urgent Care Services (GP out of hours, Fast Response, Walk In and Call Handling) but combined services offers will also be considered.
The combined value of the second contract is expected to be significant (in excess of £5m annually) but may increase or decrease depending on dialogue discussions and the solutions developed with the PCT. Invitation to tender will be via a pre-qualification process.
Successful bidders for both tenders will be expected to provide innovative and creative services which meet local need and potentially exceed existing NHS standards, and also deliver a positive learning environment for all staff. The contracts will be for five years with extension options.
Further information and how to apply to participate in the process for the Primary Care Centre GP Practice and Urgent Care Services can be found in the OJEU voluntary advert, EU ref: 111713-2008.
More details on all schemes are also available on the PCT website: www.rotherhampct.nhs.uk under the section 'New GP Services'.
