Wandsworth Teaching Primary Care Trust invites the submission of tenders for consultancy services to develop a stakeholder engagement and consultation strategy. We are responsible for improving the health of a diverse population, commission a wide range of health services and support and develop the work of 49 GP practices and employ over 1,200 people.

As a result of increasing demands to engage and consult with the public, the challenging demands of becoming World Class Commissioners and of meeting the demanding goals and  targets of their Commissioning Strategy Plans it has become essential to undertake a mapping exercise in order to identify both the current engagement and consultation work being carried out across the PCT and the most effective strategies to be carried forward.

Public engagement and consultation is currently spread across the PCT within different departments including communications which reports to the Chief Executive; Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) and Equality and Diversity both of whom report to the Associate Director for Strategy; and Public Health. GPs and Practice based
Commissioners (PbC) also undertake engagement andconsultation with patients.

It is anticipated that a significant part of the work will include a mapping exercise of current public and stakeholder engagement and consultation processes and resources which will inform the development of a fit for purpose Public and Stakeholder Engagement and Consultation Strategy that will meet the demanding needs of the PCT over the next three years.

It is expected that this work will commence no later than 6 June 2008.
