GP practices map - experiment

The map shows nearly all of the GP practices in England - about 8,300. It displays some of the information used in the HSJ story Analysis: patients in poorer regions using A&E over GP.

Practices are coloured according to the number of A&E attendances per 1,000 of their registered patients, weighted to take account of need.

Green: 0-213 A&E attendances per 1,000 need-weighted patients
Yellow: 213-273
Purple: 237-345
Red: More than 345

Clicking on a practice shows more information about it including its name, the rate of spending on emergency attendances for its registered patients, the deprivation of its patients, and its emerging clinical commissioning group.

The CCG information was collected by HSJ and is changing quickly so has gaps and may not be up to date. Please send updated information to dave.west@emap.com. Most of the other information was published by the NHS Information Centre in December 2011. Locations are mapped by Google, and in a handful of cases there are mistakes.
