PERFORMANCE: Basildon and Thurrock UHFT has reported that accident and emergency attendences were 6 per cent lower than expected for the year.

The FT’s performance report for the end of the 2010-11 financial year said that in the month of march A&E attendances had “adverse income variance in the month of £11,000 and 50 attendances lower than plan”.

It said that full year A&E attendances have been 6 per cent behind plan, resulting in lower income of £490,000.
