There was so much sense talked at the NHS England Expo, and so very much of it tweeted out by NHS England’s media team, that it’s difficult to single out highlights.

But a special mention goes to the SOCIAL COMMAND CENTRE – a sinister sounding piece of apparatus which in fact commanded absolutely nothing, but did produce visualisations of information gathered from Twitter.

Apparently it’s a “real time listening window”. No, it cannot literally listen to anything as it doesn’t have any auditory sensors, and it isn’t a window because you can’t see through it. It does exist in real time though, because, well, everything does.

Still, it served to show just how much talking the Expo had caused.

What would be really useful is a tool that could judge the quality of the dialogue, rather than just celebrate its existence.
