FINANCE: Buckinghamshire primary care trust finished 2011-12 with a year-end surplus higher than planned, despite over-spending on all its providers.
The PCT reported a surplus of £127,000, against a plan of £100,000.
However the PCT overspent on its contract with Berkshire Healthcare Trust by £3.4m; on Oxford University Hospitals by £934,000; and on Heatherwood and Wexham Park Foundation Trust by £2.4m.
Total overspend across all providers came to £7.4m.
The trust delivered extra savings on prescribing and independent sector treatment centres, reporting efficiency savings of £7,000 less than plan.
