PERFORMANCE: Calderdale PCT was missing its target for reducing pressure ulcers for the PCT’s patients in 2010-11.
The latest reported figures show the area is the only performance category rated “red”. The PCT had aimed for a reduction of 40 per cent at Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust and Calderdale community services. However the third-quarter recorded reduction was 15 per cent.
Pressure ulcer prevention is now one of six priorities identified by the PCT for 2011-12, along with prevention and reduction of healthcare acquired infections, children’s safeguarding, adult safeguarding, care homes and medicine management.
