Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership Trust has joined with the University of Wolverhampton to launch a masters degree in primary mental health care.

The two organisations will work together on mental health education and research with the MSc/MA in Mental Health aimed at current and newly qualified GPs, nurses, social workers and other health professionals.

The trust will provide clinicians from a multi-disciplinary background including nurses, medics and social workers to be involved in the educational course and there will be an opportunity for the trust to be involved in mental health research.

Gary Graham, chief executive of Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership Trust, said: “This education allows us to use our specialist clinical expertise to improve the patient experience wherever they access mental health services - in this case primary care.”
