Inspire, Nurture, Excel, Lead

I am really proud to be the chief nurse at Manchester University Foundation Trust and I am delighted to be able to offer two new opportunities to develop nursing leadership across our group of hospitals.

Why this role?

My aims are simple; to provide the best possible care for our patients and service users, to be renown for our nursing approach to continuous improvement, research and expert clinical practice, to be the best place to work and learn and to have a reputation for compassionate leadership and care.

I want our hospitals to be a place where we foster talent and grow nurse leaders, where we partner with likeminded organisations and our great academic institutions here in Greater Manchester.

I want the people who use our services to be our best advocates and most of all, for nurses and nursing to have pride in everything we do.

Why this trust?

We are one of the largest NHS trusts in the country and our children’s hospital is the largest in Europe. Nonetheless we have developed a structure to foster the unique and individual nature of each of our hospitals in order to connect with the communities we serve, celebrating diversity and promoting clinical excellence across the group.

As a board we recognise that great nursing is central to our success and great nurse leaders make a massive impact on the quality of patient care and clinical outcomes. This is why we are looking to recruit two exceptional nurse leaders: director of nursing, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital; and director of nursing, Wythenshawe, Withington, Altrincham and Trafford Hospitals.

How will this role advance your career?

We need you to come on a journey with us to further develop our model of devolved autonomy keeping a clear line of sight from board to ward and ward to board.
