A Welsh health board is set to face charges for breaking patient safety guidelines in the wake of a patient’s suicide in 2004.

Sylvan Money, a 26-year-old artist from Presteigne, hung herself from a curtain rail with her nightgown cord, at Bronllys Hospital near Brecon.

Powys local health board will appear opposite the Health and Safety Executive, which is prosecuting, at Llandrindod Magistrates’ Court on 25 August.

The HSE case is being brought forward under Section 3(1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
