FINANCE: Bromley CCG has approved a £1m ‘GP incentive’ scheme, board papers reveal.

The scheme covers all GP practices in Bromley over this financial year and will see “a requirement to adhere to clinical pathways by referring 75 per cent of  patients through the patient referral centre for certain specialities, targeted education to increase the quality of referrals and level of engagement with new care pathways, peer review to share expertise and skills amongst practices and avoid inappropriate clinical referrals”.

The GPs on the board of the CCG left the meeting when the incentive scheme was approved in March.
