FINANCE: Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group has set aside £4.9m for risks associated with continuing healthcare claims and over performance on acute contracts during 2013-14.

The CCG’s non-integrated single financial environment report reveals the commissioner has identified a risk of up to £9.5m on over perfomance on acute contracts and a further £6.5m relating to continuing care.

However, after assessing the likelihood of the risks being realised the CCG has set aside just £4.5m

The CCG has a budget of £900m has set a quality, innovation, productivity and prevention savings target of just 0.28 per cent and has not set aside 2 per cent of its budget for non-recurrent expenditure as required by NHS England.
