WORKFORCE: Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby Clinical Commissioning Group has appointed David Williams as its lay chair.

He replaces Henry Cronin, who stood down on 31 March “to concentrate on other projects”, according to a statement by the CCG.

Mr Williams has worked across a range of sectors, including the electricity industry, police service and local government. He has worked within health as a consultant.

He described his appointment as “a real privilege”.

“I will do my best to support an excellent team in delivering health outcomes in a financially challenging context,” he added.

Chief clinical officer Vicky Pleydell said: “We are delighted to welcome David to our CCG.

“He will be an asset to the team and his experience in developing public and private sector organisations will be invaluable in helping us to achieve our goals.”
