FINANCE: A Berkshire West CCGs finance paper states that the “capacity and capability” of the Central Southern Commissioning Support Unit will be “critical” to the delivery of their financial strategy.
The paper says the charge for the contract with the group of CCGs is currently quoted at £10.75 per head of population but that “it is anticipated that this will increase with the next iteration due imminently. CCG Running costs will need to be amended to reflect this.”
The board papers also warn that the impact of reductions in social care funding is starting to be felt.
“The likely reduction of 25% over the next 3 years is manifesting itself with increased delayed discharges in the acute and community sector. This is not only a threat to the achievement of targets but a real threat to patients’ care,” they warn.
