PERFORMANCE: The chief executive of North Devon Healthcare Trust is to tackle individuals not complying with the hand hygiene policy.
Compliance with the policy among medical staff decreased from 91 per cent in September to 88 per cent in October. Overall compliance is at 96 per cent. A report to the board stated: “Individuals who are noted not to comply with trust hand hygiene policy will now be individually approached by the chief executive”.
The trust has had 12 cases of Clostridium difficile year to date against a limit of 18. Three cases of MRSA have been treated at the trust since April but only one is deemed to have been acquired there.
