COMMERCIAL: Southampton City PCT has agreed to transfer six of its properties to the aspirant community foundation trust Solent Community Healthcare.

Solent, which was set up to take on Southampton’s provider arm under the transforming community services programme, had orginally requested the transfer all of the PCT’s 38,000 sqaure metre estate.

However, the PCT board decided only to transfer the properties where Solent was the majority user.

These are: Brookvale; Woolston Clinic; Westwood House; WesternCommunity Hospital; Bitterne Health Centre; and Thornhill Health Centre.

The report to the board revealed that neighbouring PCT Portsmouth is planning to transfer its entire estate to the aspirant CFT while Hamsphire, whose provider arm has integrated with Hampshire Partnership Foundation Trust, will retain all of its estate.
