PERFORMANCE: NHS West Essex has reported that it is at risk of failing on its 18 week referral to treatment time target.

The trust’s performance report for January said: “The 18 week standard is at risk in 2010-11 due to the raising number of patients waiting over 18 weeks in both the admitted and non admitted waiting lists.

“There are seven specialities in the admitted cohort and four specialities in the non admitted cohort of patients.

“The PCT is working with Princess Alexandra Hospital to draw up trajectories of when these patients will be treated and assurance that waiting lists are being managed.”
