STRUCTURE: NHS West Kent is on course to fully divest its provider arm by the transforming community services deadline of April 2011, its strategic health authority has said.

The primary care trust has proposed integrating its community services provider with that of NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent to create a pan-Kent aspirant community foundation trust.

Board papers from NHS South East Coast said the strategic health authority confirmed assurance against TCS tests in September 2010, and the Department of Health confirmed agreement in October 2010.

The SHA stated: “The proposal is planned for implementation, subject to final assurance and approvals, by 1st April 2011.”
