WORKFORCE: The chief executive of Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals Foundation Trust will be stepping down.
Mr Liles will be leaving the trust at the end of August to take up a position as a partner at Consilium, a healthcare consultancy.
The trust has started recruiting for a new chief executive and hopes to have a preferred candidate by the end of June.
Ashford and St Peter’s recently announced merger plans with the Royal Surrey County Hospital Foundation Trust.
Mr Liles said: “I have really enjoyed my time at Ashford and St Peter’s, and have been proud to be its chief executive for over five years. However, a great opportunity has come up for me to work as an independent advisor to the NHS, joining a specialist healthcare consulting company called Consilium as a partner. This comes at the right time for me, and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the health service in a new role.”
He added: “I’m not leaving until September and will be working hard with the Board to continue the work on our strategic priorities. Ashford and St Peter’s is a great organisation with committed and talented staff and I feel very lucky to have been part of that over the last five years.”
