FINANCE: Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital FT wants to deliver annual recurring savings of 4 per cent until 2013-14.
The productivity and efficiency targets are set out in its forward plan strategy for the next three years, which was submitted to Monitor in April.
The document states: “We will deliver and sustain efficiency savings of at least 4 per cent per annum for each of the next three years.”
It adds that there will be a programme of “trust wide redesign” which will lead to improved theatre utilisation, improved day case rates, further improvements in length of stay, improved outpatient utilisation and a reduction in unnecessary outpatient follow ups.
“We are using a LEAN based local improvement methodology – our EQUIP programme – to enable local innovation and change to improve efficiency, quality and productivity,” it adds.
