PERFORMANCE: The trust, which achieved foundation status in December, has reduced its risk rating on venous thromboembolism phrophylaxsis and child safeguarding.
In February 2010 the trust warned it was achieving only 61 per cent compliance with VTE blood clot risk assessment, rather than the expected 100 per cent.
The trust said it was now compliant at 90 per cent and NHS South East coast had identified it as an exemplar site. As a result risk had been reduced from medium to low.
The trust has also reduced its risk rating over its lack of a designated social services worker to lead on safeguarding children from high to medium. This risk applies to wherever children are cared for within the trust, specifically paediatric A&E, paediatric wards and paediatric outpatients.
However, mitigation arrangements have been put in place including a strengthening of the link social services worker post.
