COMMERCIAL: Avon and Wiltshire Partnership Trust is considering whether a “strategic partner” would assist its bid for secondary mental health services contract in Bristol.

Bristol clinical commissioning group confirmed plans to retender the services earlier this year. The process was begun by Bristol primary care trust in response to concern about the quality of service currently being delivered by Avon and Wiltshire.

Avon and Wiltshire chief executive Iain Tulley’s report to July’s board said the organisation was working with a “a number of local organisations” in Bristol “to ensure a strong partnership which can meet the service provision aspects of the tender in the most comprehensive manner”.

“A process is in place to determine whether a strategic partner would enhance our service offering. The outcome of this will be reported in due course,” he said.
