STRUCTURE: Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Trust is aiming to become a foundation trust by the end of the financial year.

The most recent timetable presented to the board anticipates authorisation during quarter three (October to December).

The trust is rated green against all but two of Monitor’s ten financial risk indicators. It scored an amber because a default clause has not been agreed for its working capital facility and a red against payment of debts, which a report to the board states is due to a “contentious invoice” for £97,000 that has since been withdrawn.

At the end of March 2011 the trust had 16,019 members of which 10,894 are public members and 1,537 are patient members, including 609 carers.
