WORKFORCE: Avon and Wiltshire Partnership Trust had failed to appoint a medical director following interviews in August.
The trust initiated a fast track recruitment process for a dedicated medical director in the wake of the publication of a strategic health authority report criticising its governance and the lack of clinical engagement. Previously the medical director had held other responsibilities as well.
A paper presented to August’s board said further recruitment was planned for mid-October with external company support and an internal engagement exercise was to be held with medics to discuss the role.
Plans to recruit a director of operations have also been delayed following discussion at a board seminar which may “result in decision to review [the] role”.
