STRUCTURE: The group would “ensure timely and appropriate response to concerns about independent contractors and performers and their services and implement appropriate actions”.
A cluster document said the primary care concerns group would “review referrals, identify substantive concerns and develop and deliver action plans including appropriate training or education”.
It would also be responsible for establishing “‘in-house’ procedures for addressing primary care practitioner performance problems” and would have to “consider the importance of this information and the evidence in support of it.”
The monthly meetings are planned to have a practitioner performance manager, medical, dental and opthalmic advisors as well as a GP contracts and performance manager and patient experience coordinator.
The cluster consists of Barnet, Camden, Haringey, Islington and Enfield primary care trusts.
